These are the Pariah River Water Pockets in Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument. The Pariah River runs 85 miles from Bryce Canyon National Park all the way to the Colorado River at the beginning of the Grand Canyon, flowing through numerous remote slot canyons along its course.
This image is a very good example of the stepped layers of the Escalante Grand Staircase. In the distance on top are the pink cliffs of Bryce Canyon, below those are the White Cliffs and then in our immediate foreground are the Vermilion Cliffs where the Pariah River where it joins with Kitchen Canyon Creek.
